For some time there have been curved Fabric roof kits for shipping containers.
But for some reason it seems no one offered a Steel container Roof kit.
When I realized this, being in the steel building business, I started to offer a kit in steel.
As it turned out it’s actually not more expensive than Fabric (seems the fabrics used are quite expensive)
And it’s guaranteed for 20 years (instead of typically 5 for fabric)
In addition the steel container roof kits can be properly structurally engineered to meet even Cyclonic conditions.

Since then just about everyone who sees a PodRoof or a picture of one has the same reaction.
“What a great idea !”

So now we are working really hard to make the PodRoof container roof kit available worldwide.
This is the Australian site (where PodRoof was born). Other country sites are accessible by clicking the flags on this site.

Happy Podding.

A shipping container roof/cover is a great way to get a cheap shed with better lock up security than a conventional fully steel clad shed.
The most common kits these days are the Fabric Roofed ones which are generally variations on some form of semi rigid tent structure.
While these fabric container roofs are great for temporary cover and emergency shelter they aren’t meant to weather the elements for decades like the PodRoof steel container roof kits
There are one or two steel container roof kits here in Australia and overseas but they are generally quite expensive and boast features like modular transportability to compete with the fabric ones.
At PodRoof we have taken a different approach by offering an affordable container roof kit which can be erected and left in place indefinitely (at least a few decades) and at the same time protect and extend the life of the shipping containers themselves which are prone to rusting out if left exposed.
However this doesn’t mean the PodRoof shipping container roof kits can’t be relocated.
Moving an PodRoof container roof kit means unscrewing the roof sheets and numbering and stacking them but apart from that the rest of the frame is fully bolted and can be disassembled with a single spanner (or better a battery rattle gun!)
All the components of the standard shipping container kit will also fit Inside a shipping container for transport once disassembled.
Another important aspect of the shipping container roof cover is that no special footings are required and generally no council approval either.
